Alina Porumb

Alina has been engaged in the civil society and philanthropy development initiatives in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe in the last 23 years, as a development consultant, program director, researcher and volunteer. She is currently the Executive President of the Association for the Practice of Transformation, leading of the Initiative for Strategic Philanthropy and Intelligent Resources in Central and Eastern Europe (INSPIRE).

Between 2005 and 2016 she has been part of the leadership team of the Association of
Community Relations (ARC), a Romanian philanthropy development support organization, where her main roles included facilitation of the strategic thinking and knowledge building processes of the organization and leading two strategic programs of ARC: the support for the development of community foundation movement in Romania and a support for sharing knowledge in the area of strategic philanthropy in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2015, Alina has received the Olga Alexeeva Memorial prize for remarkable leadership, creativity and results in developing philanthropy for progressive social change in an emerging market country.

Chris Worman

Chris is an entrepreneurial executive with nearly 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector; the last decade focused on program
development and strategy at the intersection of technology, philanthropy and civil society capacity building.

As TechSoup’s Vice President for Alliances and Program Development – responsible for new program, partnership, and service research and design including: TechSoup’s first policy and scenario planning practices; research partnership framework; impact investing, digital identity, blockchain, and future market strategies. Built multi-sector roundtables, research and design groups to support development and iteration. Crafted partnerships, business plans, funding and go-to-market strategies for each initiative.

As Director of Alliances and Community Engagement – managed launch and program development for http://www.techsoup.global including development of strategic multinational corporate, development-aid and foundation partnerships to pilot and scale new capacity building, digital infrastructure, and technology-for-social-good models. As Director of Program Development – led program expansion through South East Europe and Caucuses, structured multi-million dollar tech4good programs including http://www.transpanrencee.org – a community-driven challenge design model that has engaged more than 2 million individuals from 16 countries in the development of approximately 200 citizen-focused, participatory democracy sites or apps. Currently considered U.S. State Department’s flagship investment in civil society and tech.
