WINGS Staff Interview- Sarah Brown-Campello

This is the third in a series of interviews with the WINGS staff team. It will give you the opportunity to get to know a bit more about them and the work that they do. The staff member we want to introduce you to today is Sarah Brown-Campello . You can see profiles of all the staff here.

1) What is your role?

I work as the Network and Development Coordinator here at WINGS where I have been for the last few years. I help to manage the network connections, find new members, check in with existing members, write proposals, and lead some programs including the 4Cs process, affinity groups, and India-process.

2) How did you end up working at WINGS?

While working in the Middle East in a peacebuilding NGO, I was unexpectedly not granted a visa to extend my work. On the hunt for the next opportunity, I found an interesting description for this job at WINGS. I applied, and after getting called for an interview, I booked a one-way flight to Brazil. I am definitely glad it all worked out!

3) What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment, we have our membership drive. That means reaching out to all our lovely members and reminding them to join the network for another great year! I am also very busy with facilitating our affinity groups. If you haven’t joined one yet, or want to learn more, please email me! We also have a meeting coming up in India where we will be discussing the ecosystem to philanthropy and I am very excited to learn from the people that will be present there.

4) What is your favourite thing about your job?

When I get to meet our members in person. There is nothing like working with someone online for years and then finally getting to meet them in person.

5) Book you’re reading at the moment
