Nelson Mandela 1918-2013, Hamba kahle Madiba

Nelson Mandela was more than a hero. He was, and continues to be through his legacy, a true global leader, inspiring the human heart to its greatest potential, reminding us that “education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Nelson Mandela

Mandela stood for equality and justice and honor, and by example showed us the power of humility and forgiveness. We should honor him, now and always, by continuing his life’s work through increased empathy, collaboration and peacebuilding throughout the world.

Mandela’s ancestral name “Madiba” has become a sign of respect and affection, so now we join in a worldwide tradition and say, Hamba kahle Madiba.
