TUSEV (Third Sector Foundation of Turkey) has started implementing the Balkan Civil Society Acquis, a project coordinated by the Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN), in partnership with other Balkan Countries (Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia). Funded by the European Union, the 2012-2014 project aims to strengthen the capacity and potential of civil society for monitoring and advocacy work.
Within the scope of the project, civil society organisations from Western Balkans and Turkey have developed a “monitoring matrix”. Through this matrix, the project aims to: create a monitoring mechanism for tracking the development of civil society; develop the EU Progress Report which analyses the issues regarding the development of enabling environment for the development of civil society; and support the participation in a legal reform initiative, promotion of monitoring activities of the stakeholders of the EU. The European Network of National Civil Society Organizations (ENNA) and the European Centre of Non-Profit Organizations Law (ECNL) are also partners in the project.
