Sampradaan Indian Centre for Philanthropy (SICP) has been strengthening the civil society sector by building different funds and foundations, and by promoting giving and fundraising including community resource mobilisation and asset development. In the process, SICP is helping the communities to organise themselves and encouraging them to contribute their time, money, knowledge, skills and other resources for their own development.
SICP is also helping them build development organisations called local area development foundations (LADF) or community foundations (CF).
SICP is carrying out a National level Research on the potential places and community groups where Community Foundations can be formed. SICP is also searching for NGOs that have been structured along similar lines and are carrying out activities to involve the local communities in contribution and cost sharing, and other forms of community resource mobilisation.
