Nominations for the 2013 Drivers of Change awards are now open. Nominate individuals, organisations or government agencies that demonstrate innovation and leadership to overcome poverty in southern Africa.
enke: Make Your Mark’s approach is a role model in innovation. This youth-driven education and entrepreneurship organisation takes key elements that have been used to tackle poverty (leadership development, entrepreneurial thinking, projects) and combines them in a way that young people can access and utilize to create a better future for themselves.
The rich and poor young people in enke: Make Your Mark are challenging the barriers of inequality in South Africa by voluntarily taking action to bridge the glaring social and economic divides. These inspired young people are igniting an entrepreneurial spirit of action for self-generated progress amongst young people, the judges said when they presented enke: Make Your Mark with the Drives of Change award in the Civil Society category in 2012.
